Andrew Maier

FOUNDER, SCALE OS

Andrew leads business development for a defense manufacturer, selling medical and life-support equipment into military medical and special operations markets. His work runs from the program office to the operational unit: DLA catalogs and medical set reviews, SBIR and STRATFI pathways, service-level evaluations, and the conference circuit where buyers and vendors actually meet.

Before that he served as an Army officer in the 3rd Infantry Division: an armor platoon leader and then distribution platoon leader in 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, and brigade S4 for 1st Brigade — responsible for the logistics, property, and contracted support of a brigade combat team — including duty as a contracting officer representative, overseeing contractor performance on the government's behalf. He has sat on both sides of the acquisition table: inside the organization that writes the requirement and signs for the equipment, and outside it as the business developer trying to get a product fielded. That is the perspective Scale OS is built on.

He founded Scale OS to give companies with products worth fielding the same market access, acquisition fluency, and daily intelligence that the large primes take for granted. He also built FedRadar, the firm's daily federal opportunity brief, after watching too many good companies find out about the solicitation that mattered a week after it closed.
